必要書類 · What to gather
This is a starting checklist, not a final one. The exact set depends on your status of residence and on what your accepting organisation and the reviewing bureau ask for. Always work from the list your organisation gives you.
本人確認
Identity
- Passport — photo page, plus any pages with previous Japanese visas or stamps
- Passport-style photograph to the size your organisation specifies
- Birth certificate (and an official English translation, if required)
- Citizenship certificate or national ID
学歴
Education
- Certificate of graduation from your final school
- Academic transcript / mark sheets
- Language certificates — JLPT, JFT-Basic, or other proof of Japanese ability
- Any professional or technical qualification relevant to the role
職歴
Work history
- Employment certificates from each previous employer
- Experience letters stating your role and dates
- Skills test results, where the status of residence requires them
家族・身分
Family and civil status
- Marriage certificate, if you are married
- Divorce decree or death certificate, if applicable
- Birth certificates of children, if they are included
- Relationship certificate, where your organisation asks for one
経費支弁
Finances
- Bank statements or balance certificate for the person paying your costs
- Income or tax documents for that person
- A letter explaining who is paying and their relationship to you
- Proof of the source of the funds
健康
Health
- TB screening (JPETS) certificate from an approved panel clinic, where required
- Chest X-ray result issued with that screening
Two things that cause the most delay
- Names spelled differently across documents. Your passport spelling is the one that counts. Make every form match it exactly, including the order of family and given names.
- Dates that do not agree. Graduation dates, employment dates and passport dates are cross-checked. The guided form flags these for you.
